Pittsfield State Forest has about 16 miles of trails that wind through a mixed hardwood forest. The trails are generally fast and smooth, consisting mostly of hardpack with some rocks and a little loose dirt. The trail system has a few steep hills, a few water crossings, and a few berms, but no jumps. The trails are mostly for beginners, with some intermediate terrain. The trails are marked with orange and yellow triangle blazes. ATVs and UTVs with a maximum width of 50 inches are permitted, but Jeeps are not. An additional permit is required to ride the trails.
