Located in the George Washington National Forest, the South Pedlar ATV Trail System offers a 19-mile network of looping trails. The system is open to dirt bikes and ATVs under 50 inches wide, but UTVs are prohibited. The terrain is mostly hardpack, with a good mix of wide, easy trails and narrow, twisting sections for more advanced riders. A U.S. Forest Service permit is required and must be purchased in advance from a local vendor, as it is not sold at the trailheads. Riders should be cautious of two-way traffic on all trails.
