The Virginia Highlands Horse Trail is a 67-mile multi-use trail in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area that is primarily for equestrian use, but it is seasonally open to dirt bikes from October 1 through April 1. ATVs and UTVs are not permitted at any time. The trail system consists of a mix of doubletrack and singletrack with several creek crossings and is mostly suitable for beginner and intermediate riders.
