Known to many as 'Motorcycle Island,' the Appalachia Bay ORV Area offers a distinct riding experience on predominantly sandy terrain. The system consists of miles of twisting, wooded trails mixed with open beach areas and some hard-packed ground. The trails feature some small jumps and berms but no steep hills or large jumps, making the area best suited for intermediate riders, with some sections also appropriate for beginners.
This ORV area is a peninsula, and visitors must be aware that high water levels can flood the connecting road, temporarily cutting off access. The trails are open to dirt bikes, ATVs, and UTVs (up to 64 inches wide) and can become crowded on weekends. While there is only day-use parking on the peninsula, camping is available at nearby campgrounds that provide trail access.Dirt Bike Trail System
