Hartman Rocks Recreation Area is a massive public land that is a premier destination for dirtbike riders, offering over 45 miles of dedicated single-track trails. The terrain is highly varied, with a mix of smooth, fast trails, technical slickrock features, and rugged roads, as well as plenty of jumps and berms. The difficulty ranges from beginner-friendly trails that wind through sagebrush to challenging expert-level climbs on the exposed ridges. Riders should be aware that portions of the trail system are closed from March 15 to May 15 to protect the Gunnison sage grouse, and trails may be temporarily closed due to mud.
The park is managed by the BLM and requires a Colorado OHV sticker but has no entry fee. There are designated dispersed campsites and restrooms available at the Base Area, but no water or shade.Dirt Bike Trail System
