The Baldy Mesa Off-Highway Vehicle area offers riders a diverse network of marked and rated motorized routes suitable for a full day of exploration. This route is rated Green Circle, making it accessible to intermediate-level enthusiasts while still providing engaging terrain for experienced riders. The trail system features moderate elevation changes and many follow a ridgeline, winding through sparse desert landscape dotted with various scrub brush and distinctive Joshua trees. This OHV route contours on the edge of Baldy Mesa with great views over Hwy 138 and the San Gabriel Mtns above Wrightwood, delivering scenic vistas that complement the technical riding experience.
Following its recent reopening after fire-related closure, the area now boasts significantly enhanced infrastructure thanks to collaborative efforts between the Forest Service, California State Parks, and local riding clubs. The newly established staging area provides essential amenities including ample parking, vault toilets, trash cans, and a few unshaded picnic tables, along with a loading ramp for convenient vehicle preparation. An "Adventure Pass" is required for all vehicles parked in the staging areas, which supports ongoing maintenance of these lightly maintained but well-marked trail systems that connect riders to the broader San Bernardino National Forest network.Dirt Bike Trail System
