Crandall Peak and Deer Creek OHV Area encompasses approximately 40 miles of designated single-track motorcycle trails and 140 miles of forest service roads within the Stanislaus National Forest. The single-track routes feature narrow, twisty characteristics with significant elevation changes, berms, and small jumps designed primarily for motorcycle use. The terrain spans elevations from 3,500 feet at Deer Creek to 5,500 feet at Crandall Peak, extending from north of Crandall Peak to the Deer Creek area northwest of Highway 108. Four-wheel drive and ATV access is limited on designated trails but permitted across the 140 miles of road network throughout the riding area.
The area operates seasonally, typically closing to motorized use around December until mid-April due to snow blocking access. A primitive camping area near Spring Gap provides trail access, vehicle parking, off-loading facilities, and vault toilets, with dispersed camping permitted throughout the area. No additional services or potable water are available, requiring visitors to arrive fully prepared for self-sufficient recreation. Access to the camping area occurs via Forest Roads 4N01 and 4N88, with the Mi-Wok Ranger District of the Stanislaus National Forest providing additional area information and management oversight.Dirt Bike Trail System
