The Dove Springs OHV area offers just under 4,000 acres of open-use public land featuring rolling hills with scrub brush, sandy washes, and a popular bowl area perfect for cross-country play. This novice-friendly system serves as the more accessible sister to nearby Jawbone Canyon, providing everything from gentle terrain in the sandy bowl to steep hill climbs across varied desert landscape. The area connects to hundreds of miles of regional trail riding opportunities and offers access to local attractions including the Burro Schmidt Tunnel, McIver's Cabin, and the Jawbone Canyon Store.
Located off State Route 14 just north of Red Rock Canyon State Park, approximately 30 miles north of Mojave, this free riding area provides miles of open trails without services or shade. The terrain can be challenging due to debris including nails and glass scattered throughout the area. The nearby Jawbone Station Visitor Center offers maps, local information, and safety resources, making Dove Springs an ideal starting point for exploring the extensive OHV trail network in this region of the Mojave Desert.
