The Boardstand Road and Old Military Road Trail is a 23-mile, point-to-point single track reserved exclusively for dirt bikes and non-motorized use. Winding through the dense Ouachita National Forest, the trail surface is predominantly hard-packed earth with some embedded rocks. The ride is a classic cross-country experience with few steep hills or water crossings and an absence of man-made features like jumps, making it ideal for intermediate riders, though some sections are suitable for beginners.
Located in a national forest, this historic trail is clearly marked with white rectangles to differentiate it from nearby hiking-only paths. Since ATVs and other four-wheeled OHVs are prohibited, it offers a focused experience for motorcyclists. The trail is open year-round, but the best riding conditions are typically between fall and spring.
