The Danskin Mountains OHV Area, part of the Boise National Forest in Idaho, encompasses over 60,000 acres and offers more than 160 miles of trails for motorcycles and ATVs. The terrain is varied, with a mix of hard-packed and sandy trails winding through a high-desert, mountainous landscape of scrub brush and occasional patches of trees. The trails are rated from easy to moderate, with some steep hills, water crossings, and whoops. The wide expanse of the area ensures that even with heavy use on weekends, riders can find their own space. A large portion of the trail system is designated as "OHM-only" for motorcycles, with other sections accommodating ATVs up to 48 inches wide.
The riding season for the Danskin Trail System is typically from April 11 to January 1, but riders should always check for current conditions as the area can be slick and muddy when wet. There are several designated staging areas with plenty of parking, such as Bender Creek and Three Point Mountain, but amenities are limited. There is a vault toilet available, but no potable water or shade. A state-required OHV sticker is mandatory for all vehicles.
