The Foresthill OHV Area features a premier, heavily-maintained network of nearly 100 miles of trails winding through the shady Tahoe National Forest. This well-developed system offers mostly easy to moderate routes with a few miles of difficult, challenging terrain, designed specifically for trail riding through wooded landscapes. The trails accommodate motorcycles and ATVs under 50 inches in width, with two-way traffic and some paved road crossings requiring street-legal vehicles with proper licensing and insurance.
Three staging areas provide access to different sections of the trail system: Parker Flat and Sugar Pine (9 miles east of Foresthill) are ideal for families and beginners accessing the majority of trails, while China Wall (14 miles east) serves the most difficult motorcycle-only loops 5 and 6. The system operates on a variable schedule and may close during winter months due to soil moisture conditions, requiring riders to call (530) 478-6254 x228 for current status. All vehicles must have current registration and USFS-approved spark arrestors, and the area can become crowded during holidays.Dirt Bike Trail System
