Highwood Mountains Motorcycle Trails is a 20-mile system of designated single-track routes in the Lewis and Clark National Forest. The trails are mostly smooth and twisty, winding through a mix of grassy meadows and deep woods with a few steep hills and water crossings. The terrain is mostly hard-packed, with a little loose dirt and rocks. The trail is best suited for intermediate riders, but also has some expert terrain and a small amount for beginners.
The trails are for motorcycles only, with a maximum width of 24 inches. ATVs, UTVs, and Jeeps are prohibited. Camping is allowed in some areas, and the Thain Creek campground provides access to vault toilets.Dirt Bike Trail System
