The Ambrose Lake State Forest Campground offers access to about 9 miles of trails that form a stacked loop system. The trails are mostly loose dirt with some hardpack and rocks. It has a few small jumps, a few steep hills, and a few water crossings. The trails are often narrow (50 inches wide). The difficulty is a mix of beginner and intermediate terrain. The trail system connects to the Michigan Cross Country Cycle Trail, allowing for longer rides. The campground is located on Ambrose Lake with fishing and boating access and offers rustic lakeside camping. Camping is allowed in some areas...
