The Maverick Trail is a long-distance, 50-plus-mile trail system located in the high-elevation White Mountains of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest, near Pinetop-Lakeside. Primarily designed for and used by ATVs and UTVs, the system is not single-track and consists of rugged, hard-packed trails that wind through a scenic ponderosa pine forest. The trails are width-restricted, with most of the network gated for vehicles 50 inches or less.
