The Spinreel to Horsefall area is the largest and southernmost section of the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, offering a massive expanse of open sand for riders of all skill levels. The terrain is entirely sand, featuring steep dunes, large bowls, and sections of coastal forest, providing endless opportunities for exploration and finding natural jumps. To effectively ride in this area, paddle or sand-specific tires are essential for all dirt bikes.
This massive dune complex is open to all types of off-road vehicles and is a very popular destination, so constant rider awareness is critical. A key feature of this section is the abundance of camping options, from full-service designated campgrounds to primitive sand camps that offer direct dune access (a 4x4 vehicle is strongly recommended for accessing sand camps).
