The McGrew Trail is a legendary and challenging 26-mile point-to-point 4x4 route; it is not a destination for single-track riding. The trail consists entirely of a rough and extremely rocky road that traverses a forest recovering from a major fire. The ride is slow and technical, with numerous large rock obstacles that can stop even well-equipped vehicles. This historic trail is best suited for experienced riders on capable machines looking for a slow-paced, technical overland challenge.
Located near the California border, this historic route is open to all OHV types, but access is severely restricted. The trail is gated and can only be ridden by obtaining a Special Use Permit from the Forest Service, which requires applying many months, or even a year, in advance. This is a remote, self-supported ride, and dispersed camping along the trail is the common way to complete the route over two days.Dirt Bike Trail System
